Corporal Levi Seibert was in H Troop, 12th Pennsylvania Cavalry. He enlisted on 4 February 1862 in Philadelphia. He was 25 years old and lived in Lebanon, PA. He was 5'3" with black hair and eyes and a dark complexion. He was born in Myerstown, PA. His wife was Sarah Seibert. Promoted to Corporal on 19 March 1862. He was mustered out of the service on 31 January 1864 and was re-mustered within 30 days on 29 February 1864. Apparently, this did not sit too well with him because he deserted his post on the Virginia Back Creek Bridge which belonged to the B&O Railroad on 1 July 1864. On 21 September 1864, he turned himself into the 3rd Division Hospital in Alexandria, Virginia for chronic rheumatism.
